This is a communal rite that involves silence and stillness; you cannot perform it alone. It is important to arrange the circle so that everyone can see one another. A silent rite has no leader, no preacher, and no one is in authority.
An Invocation to a specific spirit may be called at the start of the rite, but when the first participant steps forward, the rite begins. Since silence is fundamental to this exercise, no one speaks when they enter the circle. People can better prepare for stillness by being silent. The participants may also feel themselves rising beyond the intricacies and complexities of their lives into a clearer, calmer, and more fruitful spiritual environment as silence gradually transforms into stillness.
Ironically, there is another tool that helps maintain the silence during the ceremony: speaking. A person may occasionally feel inspired to speak. This isn’t always simple to accomplish, and it generally comes after we suddenly realise that we have no other option but to express our true self. Anyone can make these verbal contributions. They can add to the growing silence of the community and are never pre-prepared. Other ways that we can express ourselves in this silence is through personal recording of thought, image, symbol, colour in any manner befitting the rite.
This kind of gathering turns into a period of calm, introspection, and ancestral guidance. And this is a mystical experience for some people. As they sit in the circle, they discover that they can achieve an unthinkable level of mental peace. Although it is not common and may require some practice, this occurrence might give someone the impression that they are going through a spiritual metamorphosis.
It should be made clear that not all rites are profound experiences. Some can be quite uninteresting. However, the good ones stick with you. Furthermore, no two rites are the same.
The more you perform the rite, the easier it becomes, much like any other spiritual practice. While some people find it takes a little longer, others discover that it offers the greatest riches the first time they attempt.
